I ain’t lying, and you ain’t dreaming
Email is one of the worst communication mediums around. Its easily misinterpreted, can scare away potential business partners, start a flame war or ruin a relationship.
Video was supposed to change that. Except many video email services were cumbersome and pricey.
Well, all that has changed. A new service called Eyejot promises that every nuance, every raised eyebrow, every facial expression gets through, slashing your email drama quotient.
And get this . . . the basic service won’t cost you!
According to the Eyejot site:
- It works in any browser . . . on any platform. With no software to install. With additional support for iTunes and iPods.
- Simply plug in a webcam and microphone to your computer, and record a greeting on their website.
Post your video to your MySpace page and viewers can hit the reply button and record video responses directly onto the site.
Like many next generation communication services, there is a premium service level that will cost you. But unlike a lot of these next generation services, there seems to be some meat on these bones as evidenced by positive press.
If you’ve been teetering on the edge of the video pool, this just may be what gets you to jump in.
